Acceleration and lights Not logged in -   Reply

Has anybody noticed little black squares appearing for a fraction
of a second with Acceleration? I have noticed that the first time
any light, such as VASI, and aircraft lights, comes into view, a black
square is displayed for a fraction of a second first. Once the light
has been seen the black square does not return if you switch the view
away and back again. This is most prevalent at dusk and dawn,
for obvious reasons.

I think that is light bloom effect; I saw the black squares when my
gpu config got messed up. it might be extra processing delay that is
causing the squares to remain on-screen for slightly longer than
you're used to and you are noticing them now.

This probably means you need to update your video driver

I have noticed it as well , since installing Acceleration, and I do not run
light bloom on...

With further experimentation I've noticed the square sometimes flashes
a couple of seconds before the light becomes visible, so it could be that
when the texture changes to display the location of a light there is a delay
of one or two frames between the old and new textures.
