There is actually a texture index which also includes A/C textures. However I have no idea how it is being used and never tried to manipulate it to-date. It is to be found in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX\SceneryIndexes named FilelistIndex.dat. I presume that this Index is rewritten if deleted but I'm definitely not sure. So maybe it would be worth a try. Backup the WHOLE folder \SceneryIndexes and try a restart after deleting FilelistIndex.dat. However as mentioned before I haven't tried anything with that. There is also a chance that you screw up the whole scenery index.
