Hard to say because I didn't do it all at once. I basically took an atlas and planned an approximate route and now I do the detail as I fly usually two or three legs ahead of where I am. I may also see something that looks interesting and deviate from my course. Another decision I had to make was whether or not to avoid the Appalachians in America. The first time I tried this, I flew due east along the gulf coast and then to Jacksonville, Fla and turned north. Then up the coast to the Hudson River, then into Canada and to Greenland. This time I am going on a more NE course through Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia, avoiding the coast and "cutting the corner". I will probably start flying again this weekend if can keep my leg down for a long period of time without much pain or swelling. Will have to avoid Washington this time, look at the commotion they caused this morning.
