Here are the settings I use, and these are recommended also by the Omega driver creator. My Radeon 9800 PRO and Chaintech Apogee 7NJL1 liked these settings:

Assign IRQ for VGA : ENABLED
PCI/VGA palette snoop : DISABLED
PNP OS Installed : ENABLED (UNLESS YOU WANT TO MANUALLY ASSIGN IRQ's)

AGP aperture size : 128 (USE 64MB IF YOU EXPERIENCE TEXTURE CORRUPTION)
AGP master 1 WS write : DISABLED***
AGP master 1 WS read : DISABLED***
Bank 0/1, 2/3 DRAM timing : TURBO***
CPU to PCI write buffer : ENABLED
Delayed Transaction : DISABLED (ENABLE IF YOU EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS WITH CREATIVE SOUND CARDS)

Read around write : ENABLED
SDRAM Bank Interleave : 4-bank/way
SDRAM CAS Latency Time : 2**
SDRAM cycle length : 2**
SDRAM Precharge control : ENABLED
Spread spectrum (modulation): DISABLED
System BIOS cacheable : DISABLED
Video RAM cacheable : DISABLED
8 bit I/O Recovery Time : 1
16 bit I/O Recovery Time : 1

** = ONLY IF YOUR MEMORY SUPPORT IT, OTHERWISE USE THE NEXT
HIGHER VALUE

*** = WILL IMPROVE SPEED BUT DECREASES STABILITY, IF YOU HAVE
PROBLEMS CHANGE IT

Hi,
I desperately need to maximize the speed of my FS2004 performance. I have a $300 video card yet the performance of my FS2004 is very bad. I almost get frame by frame instead of a nice smooth picture. It all started with FS2003 at some point after I ran a regular windows update. How do I get to Bios settings to make the changes? Or is there anything else I need to change? I have tried turning off Norton and all other applications before starting the FS but nothing seems to work.
Please help.

Well, first things first...

Tell us the Video Card model you have, your CPU speed, memory etc. that will cover hardware, them tell us everything related to the software like Operating System you are running and driver versions you are using. Depedning on that we can give you advise specific to your particular configuration.

Thank you very much for the prompt reply. I am not a computer pro but here is the info I think you needed:
NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti4600 driver version 5.2.1.6
128MB
Integrated RAMDAC
Version 4.25.00.27.32

Windows XP Service Pack 1 Pentium(R) 4
CPU 1.80GHz
1.79 GHz
512 MB RAM

The interesting thing is that I could run FS 2002 perfectly even with an older video card until, I think, after I downloaded Service Pack 1 for Windows XP. I thought getting FS2004 would fix the prob. But it didn't.

I hope this is all you needed. And once again, I greatly appreciate your help.

Get the latest drivers for your video card by going to the www.nvidia.com website

Then with the new drivers try lowering the water detail slider to none and lower some of the scenery sliders to medium settings and try again.

Did it get better?

Yeah, I've tried all of that. It's gotta be something else because I used to have all of the setting at max and everything was perfect.
Thanks for your help.

Another topic: In Combat Flight Simulator, can I run 3 monitors, using the center one for forward view and the left and right monitors to continually show the respective 45 degree views. I don't want to incur the expense of extra monitors and graphic cards if I can't get the benefit. Thanks.
