Nothing in 'Accelleration' that interests me really. What I want above
everything else is improved frame rates in the major cities without having
to upgrade to a mainframe.

My specs are:

Motherboard = AM2NF3-VSTA
Graphics Card = Nvidia GeForce 7800 GS
Processor = AMD Athlon 64 3800+ 2.44GHz
RAM = 2Gb
Operating System = Windows XP Home
DirectX = 9.0 c

Are you sure a mainframe will give you the frame rates you desire? I don't
even think a 10000-core processor with a quad-SLI video system will help.

Not only that, but the review is stuck on the new aircraft
and missions, and doesn't mention SP2 or any performance
gains in the package. But chasing UFO's over Area 51 is
highlighted. It's just a review of the entertainment and
gaming aspects of the Acceleration pack.

Perhaps SP2 might help a little, remains to be seen I guess.
What would help you, more than anything, is simply more cpu horsepower.
I am running my E6600 Core2 Duo, at 3.24 ghz, and with autogen on " very
dense", I still get down into the low teens, sometimes dipping below 10 fps
momentarily, in approaching/departing major cities airports.

i have q6600 based workstation, actually built for job purposes, 8gb RAM,
its 3dmark06 scores are:

3DMark Score 9751 3DMarks
SM2.0 Score 3911
HDR/SM3.0 Score 4002
CPU Score 3609

2003 x64 server, directx 9c. i get 25 fps in the air, 12.5-9 fps when
running above or landing at logan airport.

I have flight one UltimateTerrain and UTUsaFsx europe installed, also
MyTraffic. 80 or so aircrafts.

So generaly speaking it is amazing to see this system running FSX so slow.
autogen and TrafficManager are two major shitheads in FSX. Code has to be
improved, no doubts.

You didn't mention it, so, have you installed SP1? My E6600 running
XP Pro is giving 30 fps over Boston and around 20 on approach to
Logan 4R with scenery at max, autogen at high density, air traffic at
70% and road traffic at 45%, both cores at 100%. My max framerate
is set at 30. FSX SP1 with Acceleration Pack. Video - nVidia
7950GT 512MB.
