FSX Acceleration problem with EH-101 Not logged in -   Reply

Hi all

It seems that when ever I load any of the new EH-101's that the
engines constantly start and stop and then restart again over and
over. This does not affect flight at all...only in the sense that it
gets annoying to constantly hear an engine start up and then stop and
start up again over and over. Also the Gauges are indicating engines
starting and stopping. Again however...flight is not affected....I am
stumpped...HELP!!!

This has been reported on AVSIM as well. No fix so far, and Aces has
announced no plans for one. Probably something that the testers
noticed but the developers didn't make time to fix. It's surprising,
sometimes, what people will let out the door when they have a
deadline. On the other hand, flying seems unaffected.

A possible workaround, which I haven't tried yet: alias the sounds
from another helicopter. Or maybe that won't work either, since the
engine gauges are doing the same thing...

Perhaps the solution is to debug the gauges? Might be doable (by
someone else) if they're in XML.

Won't be shelling out for the acceleration pack then...

The real problem with these engine surges is that controlling the
EH101 in the hover becomes next to impossible (the aircraft will yaw
right and then left every 10 seconds or so, which makes it so
frustrating when you try to do any of the hoist missions). The only
quick fix I've seen for it is to disable the rotor governor by going
into the aircraft.cfg file and looking for the governor_pid line and
commenting it out thus, //governor_pid = 0.25, 0, 0.9, 0.01, 0.15
Make sure you use CTRL+F4 to get the rotors up to speed if you use
this fix.

Maybe MS will release an SP3 to fix the bugs in the Acceleration pack.
For example, has anyone noticed the awful broken wakes in the new
carrier missions? And I hate the absence of decent 2D cockpits in the
EH1010 and the F18 - the virtual cockpits are nice but you can hardly
see the switches and displays.

They have already stated several times - there will be NO more work on FSX
or Acceleration - none, nada, zip. They are working on FS11.

Chances are someone might come up with a fix anyway.
