FSX Fails Install Not logged in -   Reply

Hi,

Tried installing FSX. Got right to the end of the second disk and then I
get an error 1935 and some message about SimConnect followed by a load
of numbers. It then rolled back the installation.

I am logged in as Administrator.

Any ideas?

Regards

Call Microsoft's technical support line. The number
should be somewhere within the packaging.
I'll bet they can solve this for you in a jiffy.

I am not accusing you of any wrongdoing.

However, this error seems to be prevalent in people who downloaded FSX
from Razor 1911's online release. If you did, be aware that there was
a mistake made during re-compilation of DVD 1 after it was unlocked by
that group.

You must re-download the fixed version of DVD 1 again. It goes by the
filename rzr-fsxr.xxx not rzr-fsxa.xxx, which is presumably the one
you obtained that is causing the error. The DVD 2 they posted has no
errors and works with the fixed version of DVD 1.

If you did purchase the game, follow AJ's suggestion.

Can someone tell me if the 1935 error only occurs on the warez downloads?

You're lucky. Take it back and say it won't install.

Would've been nice if they said that in the installation guide and saved
people phoning support.

i found a solution via another forum and i would like to shere

when you get the error 1935 do not let it roll back
copy the game folder another location before clicking ok and create a file named msxml4.manifest via your notepad editor or another editor

paste these lines to the file and replace it with one in the game folder

<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8' standalone='yes'?>
<assembly xmlns='urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1' manifestVersion='1.0'>
<dependency>
<dependentAssembly>
<assemblyIdentity type='win32' name='Microsoft.MSXML2' version='4.20.9818.0' processorArchitecture='x86' publicKeyToken='6bd6b9abf345378f' />
</dependentAssembly>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<dependentAssembly>
<assemblyIdentity type='win32' name='Microsoft.MSXML2R' version='4.1.0.0' processorArchitecture='x86' publicKeyToken='6bd6b9abf345378f' />
</dependentAssembly>
</dependency>
</assembly>

this is taken from fsx trial version and let you play with the one you've copied to your drive

Congratulations. You've managed to post a message without the slightest
hint of punctuation in it.

LOL! It's easy to forget that for many posters English is NOT their native
tongue. I would hate to have tried to post it in a Turkish forum - you did
quite well overall.

Agreed!! Hang around here for awhile Hendosa, and you'll find everybody has
a pretty good sense of humor, and quite liberal with non-leathal verbal
barbs. Except Mx of course, whose, by his own admission, humor and 'other'
normal human responses are nonexistent.
We even have our own resident spelling/grammer checker, and no, it's not me
or Maincat.
Welcome to the group!!

Cheers'n beers (Turkish of course:)... [_])

Hey, Grandpa's/and/or Grandma's rocked up, unexpectedly?

Or they both have, at the very same time, VERY unexpectedly??? Smile)))
