To follow up my previous post, I don't know enough to troubleshoot a sound config file but I did change line two so that it reads alias=Douglas_DC3\sound. Reloading the FSX Goose, I now have OK sound, albeit a different species of bird. This leads me to believe that there is indeed some problem with the sound file. As I recall, I flew the Goose on my WinXP machine without any problem, so the issue could be related to Vista.
