When I bring in FS9 models or my personal SRA models that have working
landing lights into FSX, the Landing Lights do not light up scenery.

I think the Aircraft modeling has changed enough between FS9 and X, that you
shouldn't use them together. If the plane happens to be compatible make sure
that all the parts are installed correctly, since the folder structure of
the installation most assuredly did change.

I don't really know any of the specifics, I don't expect so many 'code'
differences but a few enhancements to things that require you don't make
certain calls to the old stuff. The same kind of things that made FS2000
planes incompatible with FS2004.

You really need to download the FSX SDK (home site) - the most prominent
changes are probably the way things are installed. The 'Aircraft Container'
has changed, I believe. This alone could explain why things aren't making it
to the display.
