A few early screenshots from FSX SP2. Settings are ulta-high, with scenery complexity and autogen full to the right at Extremely dense. The box is a quad, QX6700 OC'ed very slightly to 2.82 GHz. 8800GTS; 2 GB PC6400; XPpro DX9. Screen size is 3360x1050. cyxx1.jpg: My recollection of framerates is vague at best. Deep in the canyons of the Fraser valley, north of Abbotsford, B.C. Framerate averages close to 20 fps with SP2. I recall very vaguely that it *might* have been a little lower previously, closer to 16 fps before. The screenshot was reduced to 1280 px wide, and the framerate counter pasted back in at its original size. ktoa1.jpg: KTOA off the the left wing in the ultralight; Long Beach ahead. This is with MegaSceneryX for Southern California. Framerate averages about 28 fps, strangely quite a bit higher here than in the hinterlands. MegaScenery adjusted the the scenery settings during its installation. That might explain the performance difference compared to the mountain scenery. ktoa1a.jpg: a 1:1 crop from ktoa1.jpg, showing the fps counter and the scenery detail. kfhr1.jpg: On left base for a vstol landing on the apron at KFHR, ye olde Friday Harbor from the original default FSX flight. Terrain and landclass by FSG. Framerate was pegged at the 32 FPS target for the entire flight.
