FSX won't install Not logged in -   Reply

I received the FSX for Christmas. The first two times I tried to install it,
the progress bar got all the way yo the end but I got the error message that
the Installation Wizard was interrupted. During the third and subsequent
attempts I get the 1305 error message saying it can't read a file from the
hard drive. I have tried all the suggestions on Microsoft support with no
luck. Any suggestions? I created a new user with admin privileges but it
won't install from there either.

Check the MS Knowledgebase for that error. If you have any DVD burning
software some have suggested removing it helps.

I have this problem also, but I get the "Installation Wizard Interrupted"
error every time I try to Install.

Thanks for your reply but, as I wrote before, I have tried all the fixes on
Microsoft support without luck. I have no dvd burining software. I will just
keep trying to get it going.

Sounds like you got a bad copy of FSX. Any entries in your event logs that
might give a clue?

Are you sure it is an error reading from the hard drive? If it is from
the DVD did you test it on another computer? Make sure all temporary
files are deleted before trying to re-install, run Windows disk
cleanup utility...

FSX , step by step closer... Try this, and if you get past where I am, please
help me...

I bought a 300gb hard drive, finally copied and pasted both disc's on the
drive because it would not load from the DVD drive, started the install, got
the 1335 Error, copied each D1Feat~2.cab up to D1Feat~19.cab, had a problem
with my key code many times before it took, went to load the game and now i
get:

The Instruction at "0X200ef382" Referenced Memory At "0X019dc928". The
Memory Could Not "Read"

My PC should be able to run this game, as per the spec's on the game...

Now I don't know what to do, can you advise, help, suggest... Man, I just
want to fly...

BcBobster

I'm now 1 step closer, I changed my virtual memory on the new drive, ran the
FSX.exe, it completed setup, gererated scenery, the built database for new
scenery... Then CRASHED, and I get the "Memory" error posted in bold...

Has anyone had this happen? Can someone help me... Please....

I think you may have a corrupted file on your installation DVD although it
copies fine to your hard drive it fails when it is actually trying to be
used.

I still haven't gotten the FSX to install after many attempts to use
suggestions from MS and here. I also just realized that I have never been
asked for my key code while installing. Does it require it when regestering
the game? Or maybe I have a screwed up disk. MS has tried to be helpful but
so far, no luck. Many thanks for your suggestions and advice.

The error message states it can't read the data from my "D" drive, which is
my hard drive. I have deleted all temp files and ran disk check,
deframentation, etc. without luck. I am considering having a priest come in
and exorcise it. I'll let you know how that goes.

Re: FSX won't install... But does now... [In reply to Squeril1] Not logged in -   Reply

I have this same DVD, CD-RW/DVD Drive SM-308, do not get a different DVD,
just do this:

Good news... I called Microsoft... After a 2 hour hold time, I talked to
them... He first aked how old my dvd drive was, I said about 1 year... He
said I needed to update the drivers first, and that may work.

We updated my CDR/DVD drivers from the web, restarted the system,
un-installed the game, re-started the PC, and installed the game from the
disc.

It installed without any errors...

So now I'm flying...

My graphics are not the best yet, so I will tweek some things, see what
happens...

If anyone wants some help with the 1335 Error, just ask me and I will supply
the link that fixed my CD/DVD driver.

Re: FSX won't install... But does now... [In reply to BcBobster] Not logged in -   Reply

This morning at 2:30 am, I was able to get the disks to "install" until I got
to the "publishing product information". It then gave me the error message
that the installation wizard was interrupted and the install was cancelled. I
was not on the internet nor was there any other programs running. This is
what happened the first two times I tried to install it. Any suggestions?

I actually got to the Microsoft hotline and they determined that my 2nd disk
was defective. I ordered another one and it came in today. I tried installing
I and got the same error message that the wizard was interrupted and the
install was incomplete. They determined that I needed to upgrade my ram and
video card. I only got the memory as Office Max did not have it in stock. I
am truly stumped by this. Any one have any more suggestions?

Re: FSX won't install... But does now... [In reply to Jim] Not logged in -   Reply

I have been online and the telephone with MS about my installation problem.
Both sets of disks, (The original and the replacement ones), install all the
way until the progress bar gets to the end. At that point, it says,
"Publishing product information", and hangs there for about 3 to 5 minutes. I
then get the same message, "Installation wizard interrupted." It then says to
click finish and the file are gone from my hard drive. I have disabled all
firewall and virus protection programs. I have deleted all temp files. I have
no DVD burning software, though I do still have the software to show DVD
movies. I deleted my CD burning software. I have upgraded to 1 gig RAM and
256 video card Radeon. Has anyone else run into this and solved it? I also
updated my DVD drivers. If anyone has anymore ideas, I am open to them. The
priest declared my PC free of spirits too.
Help!

Heeeeelllllllllllllllllllllppppppppppppppppp

After adding cargo pilot, I had had some .NET framework errors. No problem,
uninstall Cargo pilot and update .NET. All fine, no problem yet. After all of
this I decide to leave cargo pilot for now and try to run FSX. Bamm problem.
The microsoft FSX window opens, then hangs. Ok Run repair for FSX. No
problems untill trying to run FSX. Starts with generating scenery....building
database...... then bamm, it hangs. In the process util, FSX is using 50/55%
CPU!!!!!!!
So far I have;
run disk cleaner
updated DVD driver( It was out of date, however this "fix" did not work)
Defraged
Restart between each install /uninstall
