My Dad has a friend who works in the Flight Simulator department of Microsoft Studios, in the Easterd Seaboard Region.
(Charlotte, NC.)

I have been told, and it has been confirmed, that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2006 will be released with the new, Microsoft Windows "LongHorn"

LongHorn will replace XP and will be equipped with new, 56-bit graphics technology that is replacing the old 32-bit graphics found on Microsoft systems.
(Apple computers has had a 56-bit processor out for a year now.)
(Why? -because apple rocks.)
(Fuck Bill Gates.)

The Estimated release for Microsft Windows: Longhorn is said to be early 2006. Microsft Flight Simulator 2006 is said to come out with Longhorn.
(OMG, think of the graphics and detail with twice the resolution!)

You can test out windows Longhorn for BETA testing at Microsft.com.
Or, enjoy 56-bit processor and graphics on a much better system and hardware, by going to your near-by apple store.

(Viva la Mac!)

...For all you guys with MS, and wanted Flight Sim Info, I just wanted to tell you all. I was, and am a Flight Sim fan myself.

First of all... Microsoft Windows "LongHorn" actually has a name: Windows Vista.
Secondly, it's not due out until the 4th quarter of 2006 (speak to anyone with access to the beta code)

As far as the 56-bit graphics technology goes: It really doesn't sound like you know what you are talking about. I'm sure you meant to say 64-bit. Either way, Microsoft has had a 64-bit version of Windows XP and Windows 2003 out for about a year now... they rely on the hardware being produced by other vendors (AMD, Intel) whereas Apple makes there own (mostly).

The next version of Flight Simulator will still be based on DirectX (probably version 10 that ships with Vista) and so, just like before, is restricted only by the graphics adapter (not made by Microsoft) and the graphics driver (also, better off not being the Microsoft version). I'm sure Flight Simulator will also run on Windows XP although the OS may need to be patched to do so (DirectX, etc)

Also, I'm sure there really is no reason for swearing to get your point across and it definately is not welcome here.

Just to let you know in the magazine PC Gamer they already had a big preview article on it. It is going to be called Microsoft Flight Simulator X. and the new engine is not called "LongHorn". There will be moving vehicles on the ground to add more detail.
