Flight Simulator X Deluxe disc not reading

Disc 1 runs and runs and when investigate disc cannot read it. Instals on old
machine so not a disc problem. Removed third party DVD writing
software/disabled firewalls/antivirus etc. but still won't load. Tried most
of ideas on related posts. Any simple ideas!
