I agree! In addition, I suggest that you uninstall the video driver and reboot into standard VGA before updating it, even if experience tells you it is not required. Make sure you clean out the system regularly, defragg the drive(s) before AND after installing. If you think of upgrading the PC - personally, I think you might consider having a faster HD (perhaps RAID?), and to make sure your pagefile has not been tampered with. You cannot tweak more performance out of it on a existing system. Usually, only reduce the performance, perhaps without you noticing? It might not be long before you want to invest in a new machine and investing in hardware that will not carry over is generally not a good idea. At least not from an economical aspect. While a new Graphics card will carry over (if it's not AGP) it will leave your current card collecting dust. HD's carry over fine and a RAID is fairly cheap in this day and age. Just an idea, mind you - it will require that you read up on the subject so that you know what you are dealing with. A RAID also should be backed up regularly! If your initial tweaking doesn't help you, I suggest that you pay a visit to: http://www.blackviper.com/ and learn how to set up a profile, such a critter would let you configure your machine specifically for FS and by turning off background services that FS does not require and that the OS does not require for keeping FS up and running, you could gain a critical performance benefit - not a big percentage, but enough perhaps to pull you over the threshold. I hold this site in high essteeme - this guy is good! Again, this isn't going to help you over-night. This requires study, but as you go, you may find you're going smoother? Tony. . .
