Landing Problems... Not logged in -   Reply

Hi i posted in one of the other forums and never got any response. I am having trouble landing because i can land the plane fine but it won't be on the landing strip. I really want to learn how to land on the landing strip but when i am say heading north and the landing strip is at an ange i need to adjust what angle I am coming in at and I try to use the map to tell if I am in line with the landing strip but the plane is really to far away to tell. is there any part of the plane or something iwht ATC that will let you know when you are in line with the correct landing strip?
Thank You

I friend, To land with perfect angle you must use précision approch ILS.Set on A.P. runway ILS frequency and proper course of runway. You can find these informations on airport map if you bclick on green arrow representing the runway on map.If you want to practice precision approch program short trip IFR.The IFR controler will help you to entercep the loc giving you the altitude and the direction .I suggest you to take a good look at fs flight lesson. Specialy landing chapter.

I'm back.To give you an exemple,I'M taking off Quebec airport (CYQB) to destination Montreal (CYUL) I have an IFR clearance to Montreal.ATC give me the heading and alti. that I'm gone to enter in A.P. Around 70 miles before destination ATC give me a clearance to land on runway 06 R.Because I don't have approch map of Montreal with me I'm gone to click on ALT.on key board, than on the menu I click on map I focus on the airport than I click on green arrow representing runway 06R LOC all the informations on this runway appear. If I remember The frequency is 109.30 the course is 058 degres. On my nav. radio1 I set the freq.and I set the course.ATC will guide me to intercept the LOCaliser with alti.2000 ft.The enterception is usualy done with 30 degres. The next step is to press button APP.on auto-pilot and let the plane do the job. If you do all this the auto-pilot sould bring you in perfect line with runway, at 300 ft.above the runway turn off A.P. and do the rest by your own like a pro. That's it Enjoy our flight

The A.P. is the auto-pilot.The type of aircraft I'm using usualy are Dash8-300 and ATR 72-500.These plane are add-on and they are much more complex to use, specialy the ATR.If you just start I suggest you to use fs default aircraft for now and get through lessons before attempt to flight heavy's.Good luck.

j.p. is quieet good, how are you, j.p.?
You can send an e-mail to me if you need the explanation to jodi_visnu@hotmail.com
I 'm flying B734 and BAe146-200. Actually, visual app. is difficult. But if you always try with the correct procedure, everything will be okay. In the real world, we have to face random weather, pocket wind, windshear, etc.
