Newbie: Just installed FSX on my PC Not logged in -   Reply

I'm a newbie to the world of Flight Simulator X. Just installed it on
my computer. Even bought the book/guide for it. My question is are
there any pre-programmed flights that I can just load in and watch it
as it does its thing? Basically they'd be flights that the computer
can control. I'd like to see some of these planes in action before
attempting to fly one.

What? In that case why have you bought a flight simulator? You can't break
it, just get cracking and fly it, if you crash you won't really die.
Get a six year old to show you how to get airborne...

The included flight lessons are pretty good. They just have you handle
a few things at a time, while telling you how to do it.

Scott's reply is much better than mine, but I could not resist pointing out
that it is not hazardous and that the best teacher in all things is usually
trial and error.

You will get lot's of sensible help here.

I'd suggest the lessons too if you are completely new to flying.

Don't think that airport is "A380 ready"! Also think that the pilot needs
more taxi practice to avoid wheels going on the grass! Wink In RL he wouldn't
have made it to the gate.

Fair comment Iain, but it was just a demo really to show how good FSX really
is. Don't like using FRAPS as it tends to reduce the frame rate which is not
what one wants really.

Well for that purpos, Youtube is not the best place, to store the videos,
since they compress it too hard, making the details verry blurry, and
recording from a screen with a videorecorder, is neither optimal. If you cut
back a litle on Autogen, and clouds, your framerates would do fine, eaven
with FRAPS running :o)
