Well, the doctors have decided to do a triple bypass surgery after some
rigorous testing over the past week or so. I feel so lucky.......Smile. The
surgery will be done this Friday morning at Cox South Medical Center in
Springfield, MO. They say that my stay will only be 5-7 (possibly less) days
and my prognosis is very good due to the fact that I haven't had any damage
to the heart muscles from an MI. It is being done quickly because of a 100%
blockage in the main artery in the front of my heart and two blockages on
the rear side. I will post back as soon as I feel up to it and let all you
fine folks know how everything is going. Wish me luck.......

Good luck Ed. It's heady stuff but routine these days with the advances
they have made in medicine. We'll expect a complete accounting of the
good looking nurses you meet Smile)

I have had my own problems with the ol' ticker but have not gone under
the knife....yet. My dad had a triple many years ago, and it bought
him many good years.

Best of luck, Ed, and as Dudley so eloquently stated, check out the
nurses and give us a play by play when you're better... : )

Hi Ed,

People tend to call it "a piece of cake" nowadays but I would still be quite
nervous if I were to be in your shoes. So I do wish you al the best of luck
and a swift recovery. And tell the nurses they will be evaluated by the
flightsim group based on your reports with Dudley leading this project. That
should guarantee the better service for you should it not? Smile)

I didn't get the original post for some reason, but I'll reply to the
reply...

Indeed, best of luck on the procedure Ed and hopefully the result will put
you back in good graces with the FAA medical staff again.

Well doh -
Don't know what happened to the reply earlier..

Anyhow, I'm going to be in Springfield on the 20th, coming up from Harrison,
AR. My wife has an appointment with her doc at the Springfield Neurological
Institute, just north of Cox on National, involving spinal cortisone shots,
at 1:00 p.m.. Not knowing what Cox's visitor hours are, how about if I stop
by afterwards for a quick howdy?? Maybe I could bring a IV drip of a triple
Manhattan, stirred not shaken, but I better leave the two cherries out, or
they'd probably draw attention right off.

Don't be shy to say no, when I'm in the hospital I really don't care about
visitors myself..

Either way, hope everything goes according to plan!!

Cheers'n beers.. [_])
