OT What has the world come to. Not logged in -   Reply

A friend of mine has been bashed out the front of his Sydney house by
cowards with an iron bar, after he confronted them about riding their
dirt bikes up and down his street.
He has head injuries, and a severely broken right arm (7 places I
think), among other injuries caused by the iron bar, and the fact he
was purposefully run over whilst on the ground by the dirt bikes in
question.
He has a young wife and 2 small kids, and his wife and daughter
witnessed the attack.
I've spoken to his wife and him on the phone this afternoon, and they
seem to be coping as well as possible under the circumstances.

I'd be grateful if they could be included in your prayers.

Darren flies a Jabiru out of the Oaks in NSW, and may now have to learn
to fly from the right seat, as some of the injuries to his arm will no
doubt be permanent.

He will be off work for at least 2 months.

The shitheads who did it have been released on bail, but as charges are
to be upgraded next week, they will certainly see at least some jail
time.
They were back riding different dirt bikes in the street again today.
The original bikes were confiscated by the police as they were used to
inflict injury.

Another reason why some people should not be allowed to breed.

Terrible tale, people that behave like that are below pond scum. They have
always existed of course but the problem is exacerbated by our ineffectual
liberal judicial system, common in the so called civilised western world.
There is no fear of law enforcement, the courts or the penal system anymore.
In days past they would have been thrown in jail tout-suit to think over
their actions. Of course nowadays jails are wonderful cozy places where
they can be rehabilitated allegedly... fat chance of that.
I sympathise with your friend and hope he recovers as well as can be
expected. With luck he will at least be financially compensated, but don't
expect much else, he will no doubt be subjected to months and months of
waiting for the case to get to court and if it ever actually does get there
and he has to give evidence, he will no doubt be questioned and treated like
the initiator of the incident.
I'm a bit of a reactionary with stuff like this I'm afraid, it just makes me
mad.
Off with their heads I say!

Hi Crash Lander,

Firstly, please pass on my best hopes, sympathies, and feelings to your
mate, AND, his wife, please.

That's not a clichéd response, mate - there are still many people who
actually care, deeply, about such events, myself included, and I know for a
fact that sometimes it provides a little comfort to the victims if they're
reminded of that, and they get concrete examples of it, to help restore
their faith in humanity.

I don't know your mate from a bar of soap, but nevertheless, here's one
Queensland bloke's best hopes for him and his wife, which I hope you will
actually pass on to them.

Secondly, I personally try to keep myself as fit, and as hard, as
possible. I've done that all my life, except for a recent protracted five
year period, but I'm back into it now.

You know as well as I do that, put any of these pricks up on their own
in a blue, and they're gutless, hopeless wonders, mate!!!

Thirdly, as Canuck has already said, things are right out of whack, re
the legal systems, and many other Services re these, and related
matters......

I'm going no further, since its a personal crusade/peeve of mine.

I alluded to it recently on this n/g, when I made a comment re the now
long-term effects of Hollywood's produce, etc, so as its well OT for this
n/g, I'm not going to rabbit on anymore about it, but you mate's just
experienced it first hand, IMHO.

Regards,
John Ward

Unfortunately that has become the SOP for bullies, whenever someone tryes to
tell them right from wrong, which their parrents obviusly forgot to do, and
the legal system seems to think, that we should not be too harsh on them,
because they might have had a hard childhod, and it's soooo not fair to them
:o(

I say, throw them into bootcamp for no less than two years, and if that
doesn't help, lock them up in a small closset, and throw away the keys, and
make their parrents pay for the costs, since they obviusly forgot to pay
attention, to their kids, when they needed it.

I'm so sorry for your friend, but he forgot the wise words of Churchill:
"When going to negotiations, allways bring a big stick, behind your back!"
It was needed then, and today more than ever :o/

Hi Tommy,

I'm with you, 100%, mate, and then some, re these pricks.

Crash Lander's mate would have been better off to call the cops first,
and then maybe take some licence plate details, rather than intervene before
the cops were called.

Gutless fucking pricks, these bastards, who just rely on sheer weight of
numbers, nothing else, as well as carrying all sorts of hardware these days,
including some guns.

One bloke on his own stands no chance, mate.

It may disappoint you to hear that, since the Asians, and a couple of
other mobs, have arrived in numbers here in Aus', with all their attendant
drug/gang rubbish, due to the "politically correct" mob here, and soft-head,
spineless, self-interested politicians, we also now have a generation of
these problems, if not two generations, and they, and their parents, are all
breeding, as they are in the rest of the world!!!! Naturally, no gold stars
to the legal profession......

What's their objective??? Fuck all, except that it makes them feel
important, and, apparently, they aren't aware of any other methods to
achieve that, or aren't prepared to work that hard, or both.

Thank Christ I'll only be around for another 20/30 years or so, and I'm
pretty sure I'll be able to look after things personally...

Errrr, ahhhhh, just so I don't piss off any more of the good folk here
than I already have, I'm trying to think how I can get this back OT - aha, I
have it! Smile

The human race isn't flying too well these days, despite all its
scientific/technological advancements.

[Institutions of Cultural Marxism] would patent the familiar "Critical
Theory" which was accurately defined by a student as "essentially
destructive criticism of all the main elements of Western culture,
including Christianity, capitalism, authority, the family, patriarchy,
hierarchy, morality, tradition, sexual restraint, loyalty, patriotism,
nationalism, heredity, ethnocentrism, convention, and conservatism."

The saturating drumbeat of Critical Theory would lead to "Cultural
Pessimism" which is when a person grows to loathe the society which
nurtured him and provided him unprecedented levels of success.

Too OT, John? {edited slightly at the beginning to soften}

This sort of thing makes me mad! I'm so sorry to hear about your friend,
Chris and he & his will be in my prayers. We have a lot of this going on
here in the UK and I'm saddened to think that Aus is also infected. It's
obviously more widespread than I thought.

It's right what others have said, that the problem is down to bad parenting
and the parents should be brought to book for it. My wife and I brought up a
son and a daughter who are now thoroughly law abiding adults as millions of
others have done, so it is entirely possible but it has to start very early
in their lives, as soon as they can understand.

Things are being done by many police forces in the UK, including where I
live. We have some teenagers who occasionally indulge in what is called
"nuisance behaviour" such as eggs being thrown at houses and, more rarely,
windows broken. However, the local police here take this seriously and quite
often catch the little ******. They then involve the parents. I've heard
that they've even phoned the parents requesting their presence at the police
station at 3am, deliberately leaving it until then, to cause as much hassle
as possible! There is no doubt that the policy, including the increased
patrols is working as it is a lot quieter now. All residents now report
anything, even minor things, to the police so they know that the patrols are
needed.

Yes people have been saying here that as it's the lower IQs who seem to
breed more, we're in danger of lowering the average IQ in this country!
Might be happening already!

Sadly eaven kids from the higher levels of society, are becomming fans of
lowlife creatures, caused by the lack of parrents arround when needed,
because theese parrents are too buissy attending their own carreers, and
lifes, thinking that money can solve anny crisis :o(

These kids then looks elsewere for a fammily, and finds it in mob like
gangs, and prissons, because eaven negative human contact is better than no
contact at all.

Same thing is happening in Europe, where the Eastern, and African mobs are
flooding our open borders, with drugs, human trafficing, and slave trading.
And our police and laws are not geared for the mentallity of those people,
whos valluation of a human life, is less than a buck.

The Itallian "Cassa Nostra" are amateurs comparred to those "new" gangs,
eaven Talliban and Al'Quaida (sp?), is a minor annyance, in comaprison :o(

Unfortunately a lot of kids think these subhumans are cool, and tryes to
mimic their behaviour, where wiolence is the sollution to every dispute, and
just hitting til the opponent give inn, is not enough, he has to be at least
crippled for life.

I do belive in democracy, and taking care of the weak and mislead, but for
these people, I'm not sure if rescue is possible, and I'm starting to belive
in fighting fire with fire. But I'm not sure it's the right sollution :o/

Maybe the Japanese sollution is the right one, for the time beeing: "One
policeman on every streetcorner", but then we might end up with a eaven
worse situation? I duno :o/

Tommy,

We just had a case in point tonight, on the nightly T.V. news.

About a year ago, down near Surfers Paradise, during "Schoolies Week",
one reveller punched another one in the face. He went down, cracked his head
on the concrete, and died.

He's only now 17, but he got 5 years. The other bloke died. The culprit
is going to be out in only a few months. The perpetrator cracked him one
because the other bloke said he didn't have a cigarette to give the other
bloke!!!!!!

These, thank christ, are only isolated incidents, so far, in Aus', but
it doesn't take too much to read between the lines.

As little as two decades ago, this sort of stuff would have been
unthinkable, but now, we're going to have perpetual generations of
fuck-heads that think this sort of stuff is O.K., and it'll all be decided
by the Courts, most likely in their favour.

Just tonight I was watching the local news, and some time (~ 30
seconds), was devoted to this year's "Schoolies Week".

These are only Year 12 Students, who therefore have just finished High
School, and yet they will do absolutely anything at all to get their split
second of "fame" on any sort of television broadcast/show/film, at all.

VERY sad!!!!!! What do they think that gains them, except embarrassment,
if they ever get the chance to look back on it, or even see it in the first
place, from seeing their face somewhere for a split second??????

The looks on some of their faces, and the obvious pleasure that they had
derived, from just being on T.V., were horrifying, and we're just about to
start "Schoolies Week", again.

I sure didn't feel the need to feel that way, or carry on that way, when
I was a "Schoolie".

John Ward

Hi Crash,
And the saddest part is that these human vermin will probably get
themselves a good lawyer and get off on some technicality. But I am a firm
believer in Karma. What goes around, comes around...eventually. Sadly, it is
true that the world is often unfair. All that we can do is try to make it as
fair as possible. Take care...

What a bunch of spineless pricks!
"Aussie Park Boyz" for real I guess, eh?

I once had a go at a few of those types when I was 18 and a reckless badass
with a bad temper and a real short fuse.
I was working in a supermarket and had already gotten used to the idea of
watching some guys rob the place once a month.
Then they decided to rob us twice a month, then once a week, then surely
enough twice a week. As they changed their methodes, they also changed
their moods and we had to watch them get more and more violent.
That's when I decided to stash my baseball bat at one of the registers,
just in case. The manager never knew.

Then one day they really got violent, beating customers, smashing the place
up and even throwing a helpless old blind man through a window.
My girlfriend, at the time, rang the bell for assistance and I came
forward. I grabbed my bat and ran right at them.
You should have seen the look on their faces!!

I only saw the three in the store and thought it would be easy, but as I
chased them out of the store I noticed the other 4. All these guys were
bigger and older than me, so I had to act like I was nuts. I guess they've
never encountered a crazy white boy with a baseball bat, cos they took off
like jackrabbits!!

And I was chasing them!!

Looking back at it all it was pretty funny, because I was yelling and
screaming as I chased them, but I don't mind telling you that I felt more
scared than I did brave.

Unfortunately for him one of them was slightly slower than I was (I was
really skinny and fast in those days), so when I was close enough to take a
swing.....I took the swing. And broke his ankle as he ran.

The other six kept on running, and I never saw them again.
20 minutes later the cops arrived, took statements, conviscated my bat,
released the guy I took down due to aggrivated assault on my part and
locked me up for 5 hours to cool off. The guy never pressed charges
ofcourse. One cop was angry at me for taking matters into my own hands and
asked me if I thought I was Dirty Harry. I told him that someone had to do
his job, which pissed him off even more.

Give me the oppertunity and I'd gladly do it again.
Cos it feels great knowing that you stepped up to the plate and gave a
little back.

My record is still clean though, and I eventually got my bat back.

The guy who's ankle I broke....I see him now and again on the street. He
has a permanent limp, he barely looks at me and mostly turns away when he
sees me. I guess I made a hell of an impression on him, right? Smile

The supermarket got permanent security a week later, but it closed 3 months
after that after I had a fall out with the assistent manager and knocked
his lights out. I got fired. This was around the same time my girlfriend
and I broke up, so I was pretty aggressive.
My co-workers were on my side, because they didn't like the little wanker
either, and they all quit. End of store.

Anyway, give my best to Darren for a speedy recovery, and tell him that
depsite what happened to him, he did the right thing.
There's always the danger of being on the wrong end of the attack, but one
has to try. Otherwise the bad guys win no matter what.

It's just too bad someone who doesn't have kids didn't step up to help.
That's the worst thing about todays society: neighbourhoods don't team up
against the bad elements on the block.

That's what we did here in my 'hood.
No more dealers here. No break-ins. No one bad-mouthes anyone anymore.
We swept the place clean years ago and its still clean.
Slowly but surely there's a new group trying to set up shop, but it won't
be long before they high tail it out of here. Cos I still got my baseball
bat and I can swing it harder now than ever before.

I hope Darren's family isn't permanently scarred by what they witnessed.
Give them my best, okay?

Just another reason why they make thin cable, suitable for being stretched

Hi Marcel,

"... What a bunch of spineless pricks! "Aussie Park Boyz" for real I
guess, eh?...".

Geezes, now I feel lie a real wimp, mate!

The problem is that these blokes almost always carry weapons these days.

There was a bloke just walking to work down in Melbourne, who went to
the aid of a woman being attacked, and he was shot dead.

There have been CCTV footages replayed on the news, mainly from
Melbourne and Sydney, but other parts of the country too, which show large
gangs beating the living daylights out of a person on his own at railway
stations, and, get this, some of those footages have included girls in the
gangs, just watching, and presumably enjoying, the proceedings!!!

There have been very rare instances of drive-by shootings, down in
Sydney.

There have been numerous reports regarding knifings, mainly around
nightclubs, or taxi ranks...

Most upstanding citizens don't have the luxury of a baseball bat when
they most want one, mate!!

I wouldn't say by any means that these things are at all pervasive, yet,
in Aus', but the signs are there, and the whole thing is completely contrary
to the way I was raised, and my previous experiences here in Aus', in my 56
years so far, having travelled around most of it, for many years, when I was
doing my Industrial Relations/Human Resources work......

A lot of the stuff is directly attributable to Asians, and a few other
cultures, and I say that because they are the ones who have been charged (so
its not just idle, ill-informed, speculation on my part).

And, as you and I have noted, these bastards are breeding - hang on to
your hats, folks! Smile)

The good news ?

As these various problems are increasingly being acknowledged, policing,
security, and other relevant, staffing/resourcing levels, are gradually
being addressed and receiving more funding.

In Aus', this is happening in tandem with an ageing population trend, so
that is somewhat comforting, I guess.

Regards,
John Ward

Hi Marcel,

First reports re "Schoolies Week" events have hit the media bricks,
mate - a crowd of ~ 20 of these gutless little pricks beat and kicked an
off-duty policeman, who was with his girlfriend, unconscious last night,
down on the Gold Coast.

Even though it would be illegal, for several years now I've been
thinking very seriously about setting up "vigilante" style organised
resistance, and this sort of report just makes me more determined to do
something!!

I couldn't give a rats arse how open this n/g is to any sort of
surveillance. The more prominence any form of resistance to these scum gets
the better, from my point of view.

It's sad that things like that can happen by idiots that just don't care.
Here in Texas, if a person approaches you with an iron bar, you have no
requirement to back away. Pull the gun, 2 shots in the chest, one shot in
the head. It cost the taxpayers nothing then. In fact I heard on the news
that a home invasion somewhere in South Texas was halted in their tracks
when the home owner pulled a gun and shot them. There is no longer a
requirement that you must retreat as far as you can before you kill the
scum. Can you tell it makes me mad about the dirt bikes as well?

It's legal to use deadly force to protect your property in Texas. I'm sure
it's left over from the days of the wild west.

I'm not sure if that includes shooting someone in the back of the head if
they were stealing your car... but, if they come on to your property with
the intent to steal something you can blast away at them.

Just a couple of months ago an owner of an auto parts warehouse shot and
killed 3 people over the course of 4 weeks and the cops just interview him
and send him home.

Doesn't the perp have to be armed in some fashion to justify deadly force in
Tx?

Nope.

If someone is coming into your house through a window, feel free to blast

Well, that kind of wild west laws, may make you feel better for the moment,
after a meeting with a bunch of S*** heads, but I don't think it's the best
sollution for the problem :o/

If the bullies know you will pull a shotgun, wont that just make them bring
rifles to the party?

A few years back, there was an incident, where a Japanese exchange student,
went to the wrong door, asking for directions, and was swiftly send to the
other side, by a Colt :o/ Don't recall what state it was in, but it made a
crisis between the US and Japan, and headline news in most of the world.

Accidents and insidents happens all the ttime, in all of the world, but
bringing firearms into the equation, will most seartently lead to someones
death, and a quest for some sort of payback, from the "victims" fammily =
The fastest way to start a vendetta.

This is not ment as a wrant against the US laws about firearms, I too would
love to bring a .45 to the described sort of meeting, with the sort of
bastards, CL wrote about, and teach them a lesson, they will never learn
from, but will it make annyone, but me, feel better afterwards? And would
that make me anny better than the Sharia judges in Iran?

What is realy needed (IMO), is someone who can take those f***** up kids to
somewhere remote, and decode their brains, and make them thinking, and
carring, humans. No jail/prisson is NOT the place for that, that's for
those, who we do not want back in sirculation, and for whome there is
absolutely no hope. I allso belive, that the death pennalty is only for
making the victims fammily get eaven, I'd much rather see them (Murderes and
their likes) rot away in a 6' by 6' concrete cell, with no windows, giving
them all the time in the world, to regrett their actions.

Yes I'm a grumpy old mann, and I do sometimes miss a law, we had here, back
when we were vikings, where a man could be sentensed to being lawless for
some period of time (1 year to life time), meaning he had 24 hours to get
the heck out of here, and after that, he was no longer protected by the law,
in anny way, so everyone could do to him, as they pleased :o)

Tommy C
Not sure what it takes to make idiots think twice, or just once in a while
:o/

So a stern talking to would not be sufficient then. Just gotta hope he
don't splatter over the drapes, Mrs C would not appreciate that. lol
I seem to remember something about Texas law, if the perp climbing thro' the
window falls inside your property it's OK but if he falls outside it is
problematic. May be one of those urban legends of course.
None of this is relevant of course above the 49th parallel where the
householder would be held to blame. Unsure

Now THAT's a brilliant idea :o)

Used it myself last summer, for some teenagers on motorcycles, racing
through the yard, where a lot of small children were playing :o) I just
borrowed one of the kids skipping rope, and tied it to a lamppost, and a
fence, the kids were having a ball over it :o)

I still remembers part of my teens, and yes I was a badass motorcycle
"rider" myself, but when we were racing each other, we did it in desserted
streets, where noone but ourself could get hurt, and maybe a few neighbours
would get their supper down the wrong throat, from the noice we made, but we
never did anny physical harm to annyone, no matter how bad we were, in our
leather jackets and worn out jeans. If someone came out to complaint about
the noice, we made a LOT of noice, until (s)he went away, and then we drove
off to a more quiet neighbourhood :o) Oh yes, we realy were bad, and had
long hair et all :o)

No, you are right, you can't shoot someone here unless you are convinced
they mean you, or someone else, bodily harm. A person coming at you
swinging an iron bar or invading your home is not coming at you to offer you
a cigarette. A shot in the back of the head doesn't count. The odds of me
ever having to even brandish my gun are about as good as winning the
lottery, but I carry it any way.

I didn't trim on purpose. What you said is very true except for the perps
bringing a firearm because they think you may have one. If the scum have
guns, they will bring them no matter what they think. If there was a law
against guns here it would only make it easier for the criminals. Being
legal to carry a gun sometimes make a crook think twice, but only for a
second.
