Problems getting FS2004 to excess the internet

I'm not quite sure if this problem is in the windows XP Home Edition or in
the FS2004 software. I reciently purchaced a new hard drive which became
drive "E". When I did this, I uninstalled the FS2004 software from drive "C"
and and reinstalled it into drive "E". Since that time, if I click on the
NEWS icon, it says that the system is not on the internet. All other
functions work normally, other areas of the program do excess the Microsoft
web sites for their various reasons. I have looked through the software and
can find no place where I can tell the program how to excess the internet.
Is it something I've done or reguardless, is there a fix known?
