Just to run through an example. Your cousin goes to the Multiplay Screen and clicks on "Open MP session" he then selects TCP/IP protocol and clicks on "Host" This leads to the "Settings Screen" where he inputs the relevant details and clicks "OK" This will then change to the MP screen again. If he now clicks on "MP Host Options" it will return to the "Settings" screen and he can confirm (100%) the IP address that it is using as indicated in the box, top right. He can then click OK and goto the start airport. You need to know the IP as described above. You then goto Multiplayer screen and click on "Open Multiplayer Options" Enter the IP in the address box and click on "Search" After a few seconds you should see the details of his game on your screen. If so click on "Join". If not you cant join due to latency/signal strength/whatever. After clicking "Join" you then use the "Create a Flight" screen and goto the same start airport as your cousin. If you are linked then you should be able to bring up the chat box by pressing "Enter" key. Chat is normally always possible, actually seeing each others a/c will depend on latency....but normally no problems. Other options may be to link to a third party IP or even try MSN Messenger(it should display an option to start FS2002 by clicking on "more") If you are already doing all the above and still can't connect properly it may be a firewall/security settings type problem. Try d/loading and installing FSHost. It seems to ensure that the required ports are open to act as "Host" Martin "J. My cousin and I have been unsuccessful in our attempts to make | the Multiplayer (IP to IP over internet) work properly in FS2002 Pro. I | for example, can see and join his Host but we cannot interact, see each | other, or chat. Suggestions? | | I've been all over the exact procedures for accomplishing this but it | doesn't seem to work. FS2000 was way easier and better for this | function. | | Thanks | Cheers |
