I've tried sending this message once already but I don't think it got through. After running FS2004 successfully on Windows Xp I decided to download VFR Photographic scenery. Unfortunately I got the dreaded blue screen at the end of setup & although it returned to desktop eventually FS 2004 wouldn't run beyond the opening page. So I uninstalled VFR photo but FS still wouldn't run. Next I uninstalled & reinstalled FS but still to no avail. I've tried safe mode - still the same. If I choose Start & then run I get a page with one file in it labelled 'Protect'. Anyone out there got any solutions? Dave

Hi Dave, well to me it seems that a process has bin installed with that 3rd party program that hasnt bin uninstalled properly even if the addon was uninstalled sucessfully.

So here is the case.

Delete any files in regards to MSFS 2004 and that addon program.

Then Restart your computer in a clean boot and install msfs 2004 again.

To get a clean boot u do the following

Start -> Run -> msconfig -> Selective Startup -> Uncheck Everything Except For System.Ini Files -> Click on Services Tab -> Click On Hide All Microsoft Services -> Click On Ok -> It Will Restart Automatically -> After logging on after ur restart u get a message -> Click Cancle And Start Installing Your MSFS 2004.

Try Running it under the clean boot. If it works fine restore ur clean boot by going into msconfig and click on <Normal Startup>
