I have run into a problem with the throttle control on Flight Sim '04. The throttle has become very unstable. When the problem first showed up, the throttle would instantaneously go from a chosen setting to the lowest setting. Now, it will not stay at full throttle or any other setting at all. If I press and hold F4, the throttle quickly moves between full and the lowest power setting.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I am essentially grounded at this time.

Thanks.

I have started having the same problem. It doesn't matter whether I use the throttle control on my CH Yoke, the F3 or F4 keys or click on the throttle on the screen and "push" it in. It always moves back out to idle power. This seems to be an FS software problem, not a yoke hardware issue.

I reinstalled FS 2004, but it didn't help. I use Windows XP SP2, but this problem started long after I upgraded to SP2. Everything else in FS seems to work, but it's hard to tell, since I can't even take off without power.javascript: addTag(':/')
javascript: addTag(':/')

I've searched in Google, the Microsoft "support" site, several flight sim forums, and found nothing. I can't believe that JMNate and I are the only ones who have ever had this problem.

I don't know if he ever got help or found a solution, but if anyone out there can help, -please- reply.

Thanks very much.

Have you guys tried recalibrating your control devices from within the Windows control panel?

Pulsar,

Thanks for replying. I haven't done that, but I think the problem is in FS. It's only happened in Private Pilot Lesson # 5, "Air Traffic Control," and one other place in the program that I can't remember now. I finally gave up trying to fly that lesson and moved on to the next one. Every lesson since then and other flights I've created or tried have been fine. As long as things keep working, I'm not going to worry about it.

Thanks again.

Hi,

Just an Idea...do you have more than one game controller hooked up to your PC. I have the CH Yoke and Pedals, but i also have an X-52. Sliders are very sensitive so if you have more than on controller hooked up when runing FS9, I recommend disabling it in FS9.Because FS9 will automatically recognize it and configure it when it finds it....hope that helps..happy flying!!!
