Hi John, Well, I have FSX, and Acceleration, installed, and running without any problems, but I haven't really run it much - I'm reserving that for when I've finished building a new PC (STILL waiting on delivery of a graphics card, sheesh). So I'll only comment re FS9. TrackIR is the best thing since sliced bread, but, of course, it only makes the situation pretty real, to my non-real-life pilot mind, in the 3D cockpit. That leaves a problem for me, since a couple of my favourite aircraft only have 2D cockpits... I'm running a Dell 30" widescreen monitor, so I have a pretty reasonable field of view, and I still have a Dell 24" widescreen, which I could run along with the other one, but it would take one helluva PC to run them both, even though that would give me extra view options. So, in my opinion, Simming will never be the same as real-life flying, re the views, and we just have to "get used to it". At the moment, I think Bobbie (C6, or Copter6) has about the best setup possible, with today's hardware, as he actually gets to experience/feel some real/three-dimensional/seat of the pants movement......
