after install Flight Sim X Acceleration - HW requirements not matc Not logged in -   Reply

Hi folks,

is it really possible that FSX Acceleration needs better HW? I've installed
FSX on my Laptop and it was running w/o any problem - now, after installation
of FSX Acceleration I always get the errormsg that my graphic card will not
fulfill the minimum HW requirements (shader support) and shutdown FSX...

Is it really possible that a SW upgrade is stoping a running config - very
obscure...

best regards
Thomas

I don't really know but it is certainly possible that such an update would
put more demand on your hardware. Which card is this? Perhaps you should
investigate the existence of a newer driver?

If this is an 'nVidia GO card', make sure your driver supports this!

Hi Tony

I've installed the latest driver w/o any improvement... I use the intel
chipset and with the flight sim test plug-in (where you can test if the HW is
strong enough to run Flight Sim X) everything is o.k. Frown

beste regards

Hi Tony,

I have the same problem. Have also posted this issue in a separate topic
accidentally in FSX Acceleration Error and Mobile Intel(R) 945 Chipset
Family.

According to the hardware requirements on the package, the intel 945 should
be acceptable assuming all drivers are up to date and there is at least 128MB
RAM.

I would be very interested in the solution to this issue as well.

needless to say FSX DX!) was the only reason I upgraded from XP2

note you will probably

Update I resolved my problem of fsx sp2 not accepting my video card
(..fails minimum requirement..)by deselecting dual monitor setting in nvidia
control panel, FSX SP2 loads and runs ok
for what its worth sp2 is looking for hardware vertex shading but in dual
monitor mode it providedes both pixel shading and hs SP2 appears to see the
pixel component and there you go ..or not. good luck worked for me
