Every ten seconds my framerates lowers from 30 till 10 for a second and then
goes up till ....the normal 30.
At the same moment my trafficmap has not the same problem but stays normal.
What kind of change (scenery??) can cause this problem?

pieter

Do you notice increased disk activity during these FPS decreases? When
FSX is running the OS is still doing a lot of background tasks. I think,
that since FSX uses so much more of the system resources than previous
sims, any OS intrusions are more noticeable. I have noticed that if I'm
flying low over mountain terrain, I get a total stall for a couple of
seconds
every 10 minutes or so. During that my drive is running flat out. Download
Process Monitor from MS and have it running on top while FSX is running
in windowed mode. It is an eye opener. It displays several hundred to
several thousand lines of data a second, so you have to have a quick eye.

Available here:

For that reason I use FS autostart to close them...
