reverser spray effect

Has anyoner who has installed this any idea why the spray effect on my
a/c is constantly on, in flight and on the gournd, a few dozen feet
below the aircraft? It is suppoed tom activate in wet weather and upon
applying reverse thrust only.
I have the lines set up ok in the aircraft.cfg file, and added the
required gauge line to the panel.cfg, as well as the effect file to
the effects folder
This is the netry, for instance, for Posky 757-200:
